Hi everyone! This is Rickie Lee and Travis — we’re both DDR dogs asked to introduce and push our co-DDR buddies to the PITStop public! We will ALL be at adoption this Saturday at the PETCO Pasadena.
Please come visit us! We love to get pets and hugs and we’ll give you great kisses in return!

RICKIE LEE

TRAVIS (I’m Deb’s Dog of the Week!)

Here we go!

AMANDA

Amanda is 4-5 year old and is about 35 lbs. She is spayed and current on all vaccinations. She is a very petite and friendly pit bull terrier. She has had a very hard life. Her original owner, a taxi driver, lost his home, and he had no choice but to keep her in his taxi and drive her around with the passengers he picked up. This worked until someone complained to the cab company. He found a neighbor in Compton with a yard who already had 15 dogs on her property. This was ok for a few weeks until Animal Control mandated that she get rid of 12 dogs, Amanda being one of the dogs. Off she went to a poorly run kennel where she was warehoused in a tiny crate with hardly any food and dirty water. She was attacked by other dogs at this facility and as a result, suffered bite wounds to her face and muzzle. She is definitely not a fighter but had to fight for food and water at this kennel. But don’t worry, Amanda is sweet sweet sweet and she did not let this bad place change the lovely personality that she has. Animal Control began investigate the kennel and they were mandated to reduce their numbers; this is where Downtown Dog Rescue came in. Amanda was rescued because she had no chance of a good life if we didn’t take her. Emaciated, full of fleas, a bad eye that is still being treated, she is so grateful to have food, water, a blanket and a dog house every night to sleep in. Slowly, we are teaching her to walk on a leash and allowing her to enjoy her time with our dog pack. Please consider adopting or even fostering to adopt sweet Amanda who has been to hell and back.

Amanda is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
ASKIM

Askim is a 10 month old Pit bull Terrier who was rescued from a park in Compton. He is social with all dogs and people. He is a big thick boy, around 70lbs and still growing. He loves to play with other dogs, is house trained, crate trained, enjoys riding in the car and is learning to walk on a leash. He would make a great family dog. He has been neutered and vaccinated and is now ready for his forever home.

Askim is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

DANITY

Danity is a one year old American Pit bull Terrier who has been spayed and vaccinated. She is a wonderfully friendly dog with all people including small children and ALL DOGS. She is a dog park type dog and loves to chase and play all day. If you have wanted to adopt a APBT and don’t have a lot of experience with the breed, this would be a wonderful first time dog. She walks well on a leash, and can go off leash as well. She shows absolutely NO AGGRESSION on or off leash, she is wonderfully social with all dogs. In fact, she stays with multiple dogs at our kennel in her run during the day and at night unsupervised. She would do better as a dog in a home with other dogs. This is a real sweetheart who survived being part of an animal cruelty case in South Gate. The man that tortured her as well as 66 other dogs is currently facing charges. She shows absolutely no abuse signs from the past. She is now ready for her forever home, healthy and happy to be alive.

Danity is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

COOKIE

Cookie is a wonderful Pit bull Terrier who we rescued from the South LA shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized. She is dog and people friendly and walks great on a leash. She plays twice a day with our pack and could live with multiple dogs in a household successfully. Cookie is under two years old and was brought into the South LA shelter as a stray. Within a couple days of living with our dogs, she was out with everyone successfully and enjoys playtime twice a day. If you are considering doing agility with a pit bull terrier, Cookie may be a good choice. She picks up commands quickly and like all pit bull terriers, is very eager to please! Conformation and personality, she is everything and more that you look for in this breed!

Cookie is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.

RED STRIPERed Stripe is a one year old Shep/Rhodesian Ridgeback blend who has been spayed and vaccinated. She loves all dogs and is extremely friendly with people. She would make a great family dog and would do well around even small children. She is petite, about 40 pounds and will probably not grown larger. She is a chaser and would love to go to a dog park or hiking off leash once she bonded. This is a GREAT dog for a first time dog owner. Please note that she is a climber and one would need to have a fenced yard with a 6 ft fence. If she had a companion dog in the yard, she would do fine. She was rescued from a kennel in South LA that had too many dogs on the property. DDR came in to assist with removing more than 40 dogs in a couple of weeks. Red Stripe was one of the last dogs to be moved out. She is a wonderfully easy dog.

Red Stripe is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
