SOUTH LA SHELTER RESCUE ME SPOTLIGHT:The Face of Faith : stunning momma pit needs a new playmate A1132180

THE FACE OF FAITH — UNFORGETTABLE

FAITH IS LOOKING FOR A NEW PLAYMATE — HER PUPPIES NOW ALL GONE

HERE’S TOMIKA SINGING HER A LULLABY

AND YESENIA GIVING HER A LAP AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Everyone adores Faith (A1132180, 3 years old, now on alert for URI and needs out at once!!!!!!!) — and she feels the same in return. Affectionate is Faith’s middle name. Tail wagging without stop, a smile that warms hearts wherever she goes, Faith is seeking that special someone (dog or person) with whom she can share her abundant joy. Friendly Faith raised her puppies, nursed them, romped with them. But, puppies get adopted and moms are left behind. Faith has a new kennel mate now, a big puppy that she watches over — but shelter dogs come and go and Faith is ready for stability and a home of her own. We have taken Faith through the kennels, we’ve had her near to other dogs — she has backed down from growlers and happily approached the curious ones, tail wagging all the time. If you can fulfill Faith’s dream for a playmate — and save her life, please call the South L.A. shelter at (213) 485-0117 or (213) 485-0119. And kindly let us know so that we may spread the happy news.
Thanks so much,

A1132576 South L.A.

“CECILIA, YOU’RE BREAKING MY HEART…

I’M BEGGING YOU PLEASE TO COME HOME”

SO WONDERFUL THAT PAUL SIMON ACTUALLY WROTE A SONG FOR HER

SO CHARMING THAT SHE WILL STEAL YOUR HEART THE MOMENT YOU MEET HER.
Cecilia (A1132576, already spayed, 6 years old, terrier / Aussie mix, 41 pounds) is the perfect dog. When we first met her, she walked up to my husband and put her head in his lap. She was patient, delicious, adorable, polite. She’s passed her cat test (seems fine — non-chalant). She’s kenneled with other dogs, including a puppy that jumps all over her. Take one look at Cecilia and you will fall in love with this great big terrier — it’s guaranteed. Cecilia needs out of the shelter right now. Call today to save this elegant, affectionate, unusual lady.

And kindly let us know that she is free.
Many thanks,

URGENT EAST VALLEY SHELTER RESCUE ME SPOTLIGHT: ON ALERT & IN DANGER : CUPCAKE

Hi, my name is ‘Cupcake’, and I’m a spayed female Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who’s nine months old.

I’m currently staying at the East Valley Animal Shelter at 14409 Van Owen Street in North Hollywood.
Their phone number is: (818) 756-9323.
My ID# is: A1087694.
My location at the shelter is: DF 36.

My previous owner gave me away. I’m not sure why, and so far my new owner hasn’t come to get me. I was just wandering around exploring when a nice couple took me off the street and brought me here. So I’m looking for a ‘forever home’ or somewhere I can stay until I find it.
At the shelter I’m a bit shy, but I’m really very playful, and I can also be mellow and cuddly. Of course, with the right training, I’ll be even more wonderful than I already am.
I do have a slightly challenging medical condition at the moment. It’s not life threatening, but it makes me look a little strange. Didn’t want to scare you off. It’s called a “cherry eye”, and it has something to do with one of my tear ducts. Don’t’ worry. It’s quite common and can be easily corrected with surgery.
I go up for adoption on the 17th if no one claims me before then. The shelter may not be able to keep me long after that though since they’re extremely full. It makes me a bit nervous. So, I hope you’ll come and see me real soon!
I just know we could have a lot of fun together. I’ll be your sweet treat.
Yours truly,
‘Cupcake’

These are German Shorthair Pointers. They are in need of a home. They are about 5 weeks old right now. Mama needs a home too. Please pass this along if you know someone who may be interested or can help foster these babies.
If they are not adopted the owner wants to send them to Tijuana. They have sweet dispositions.

NOTE FROM LORI WEISE – Downtown Dog Rescue:

Please cross post this older female English Bull dog -Staff TerrierX. She was one of 21 dogs that came into to LA Animal Services as Evidence Dogs. When she was taken by the animal cruelty task force, she was badly injured, her body covered in bite wounds, presumably from being attacked by the other dogs. The owner signed her and the rest of the dogs in this pending case over to the Dept of Animal Services. Now they are all up for adoption. The other 20 dogs are being held at North East shelter. I met this dog on several occasions (before the owner was arrested) and she is social with people and other dogs.

Here is a link to the CBS report about the arrest:

DDR DOG SPOTLIGHT: SUNSHINE!

Meet Sunshine a 2 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog mixed with a pit bull. If you have ever dreamed of owning a herding pit bull mix type dog, she is your girl. This is a WONDERFULLY social dog with people and other dogs. She is an off leash type dog who would learn very quickly to go on off leash hikes. She plays with at least 12 other dogs at a time in our pack and understands rank and order in a dog pack very quickly. She is more intelligent than most of our knucklehead pit bulls and learned the rules quickly.

She is approximately 50 lbs, spayed current on all vaccinations and microchipped. She was rescued by DDR from the South LA shelter. She was the shelter pick, all the volunteers loved her and did not want to see her euthanized. She went out to many mobile adoption events, including the Best Friends Super Adoption but was not adopted. In fact, she made such a positive impression on everyone that Karma Rescue who had already taken 8 dogs, offered to board her for two weeks at their vet’s office if DDR would take her. We gladly accepted and a ray of Sunshine entered our kennel the day she came to live with us. She plays well with Bruno, Medira and Sasha to name a few of the many DDR dogs that line up to play with this sweet girl.

Please call Sandy at 818-407-4145 or e-mail me at Lori@modernica.net

PITStop Community Assist: PUPPY found on Skid Row

A plea from Herlinda Chico

So here’s the little boy we found in skid row. He’s probably about 6 weeks old. He looks like he’s some sort of shepherd mix but he’s really little. He has now discovered how nice it is to be held and that’s what he wants to do now… snuzzle. We’re looking for someone who can foster him until we can find a forever home or a rescue that will take him. He is in desperate need of a bath 🙂 And he should definitely be seen by a vet. We can contribute a small amount towards that care. I wish it were more.

Thank you again for passing this along so we can

find a foster or forever home.
Thanks.

Any questions and you can call me on my cell phone 562.652.5600
