PITStop Community Assist: RUSTY – Rhodesian Ridgeback

A Plea from our favorite volunteer and INDIE PRINTING co-founder, Frankie Carranza:

I’ve been trying to help someone find a home for a dog he found and has been gracious enough to foster. Unfortunately its becoming an issue for him because he travels a lot for business, and really needs help taking care of the dog ASAP. Here goes my pitch…

Looking for an friendly dog that will run, hike, play, and compliment your active lifestyle? Then this dog is for you! Rusty is what we’re calling him, but you can call him anything. Rusty was found on the streets, and is now living with a foster parent who can no longer keep him due to work schedules.

Rusty is a super friendly and clumsy Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who loves to walk and run. He seems to be fairly young(maybe 2 or 3), is neutered, and is curious, but not aggressive towards cats and other dogs. He’s good with kids and has lots of playful energy. He’d compliment any active lifestyle, and needs a loving home as soon as possible. Rusty currently lives on a patio, so we are not sure if he is house trained, but he seems to use the restroom in the same place all the time, so I’d say he’s pretty trained.

Any help is appreciated!

URGENT SOUTH LA SHELTER RESCUE ME SPOTLIGHT: ON ALERT & IN DANGER : STRINGBEAN BEANIE’S A HAM A1108252

THOUGH STRINGBEAN BEANIE’S EMACIATED

HE’S A REAL HAM :. HERE HE IS ASKING “WHAT TIME’S DINNER?”

NUZZLING, LOVING, PLAYFUL, A STAFF FAVORITE!!!!!

BUT BEANIE’S SERIOUS HERE — AND BEGGING FOR HIS LIFE

Beanie (A1108252, 3 year old, came in at only 41 pounds, arrived on 4/18 and alerted since 4/30 and absolutely needs out now!!!), has had a rough life. Such a sweet dog who has kept his love for people at the forefront even though tragically ignored by those he trusted. Beanie’s skin is like leather — but his smile shines through (though he wouldn’t show it to the camera). Beanie is now in ISO so that he can enjoy his food alone and get his demodex cleared up away from the stress of the kennels. Always a happy guy, adored by staff. We’ve had him out with Liberty, his skinny female counterpart (the one saved by the South L.A. officer — and she still needs a home too) and he gave her so many kisses on her face that she was licked clean!!! And Beanie was kenneled with another dog as well — always doing fine.

If you want to fatten up Beanie and
add him some sugar-free joy to your life,
call the South L.A. shelter at
(213) 485-0117 or (213) 485-0119.

And kindly let us know that he is safe.
Many thanks, Andrea, Mindy & Kristen

PITStop Community Assist: TINY, ELLIE & WOODY

ELLIE is a demure 2 yr. old pitbull

Woody is a special 1-year-old miniature pit bull

Tiny is a sweet 6-year-old pit bull

Plea from Nancy Hardy:

I am a board member for Eastern Sierra Dog Rescue in Bishop, Ca. We have a little pit family at our shelter here that came from a horder out in Death Valley area. They are such sweet little pits-very tiny. So far we have had no luck-not even a nibble- getting them a home. We would love to keep them together-but certainly a home for any of them would be great. We do not have a facility or I would foster them in a second. Is there anyway you might be able to help us out. We are such a small community-and it is just getting saturated with unwanted dogs at the moment. We will lose dogs to euthanasia-a fact-but my heart really goes out to this little family.

You can also go to EASTERN SIERRA DOG RESCUE

Thanks for all the good work you do for dogs.

Bishop, CA

URGENT PITStop Community Assist: COCO & FIONA

DEADLINE IS 5/29 FOR COCO AND FIONA

A plea from Renee S.

I have attached a photo of my pit bull coco (mom) and her daughter Fiona. Fiona is a pit/mastiff mix. Coco(rust and white) is 4 years old and Fiona is 3 years old. We live in a home and have to move, I am moving from a 3 bedroom home to a 1 bedroom apartment this week. This is killing me even to have to send this email out for your help, I wish my situation hadn’t come to this but it has. I don’t want to take them to the shelter because I know Coco probably wouldn’t make it because she is a full pit , Fiona may make it .

Coco loves to play with either her rope or her ball… very smart and listen very well. Fiona (fawn color) is a very loving and loves all the attention she can get. Very mild manner and a little shy, she just loves attention. These two are like my children, and it really hurts me so, so much I have to get rid of them. We have had Coco since she was only 6 weeks old, and then when she had her first litter Fiona was the one my step daughter picked out for us to keep.

You can contact me at 562-843-7397 cell.

Thank You.

DAMIEN’S RESCUE DIARY: #1a & #2 RESCUE SUNDAY & LIVING IN DOWNTOWN

RECAP:

DAMIEN’S RESCUE DIARY: #1a

SUNDAY MORNING EDITION: THE NEXT DAY
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY PEOPLE

This is Damien looking at ya. Let me tell you, I gave Boxer’s Mom a Happy Mother’s Day present – I pooed on my sleeping bag because she didn’t take me for a walk first.

Finally I get to go for a walk – we picked up a newspaper on a street I never been on before. . .that’s kool

Oh BOY ! Star came over and gave me a kiss. . .WOOF

She is one sexy dame with that purple harness on and that fully tail. . . .

WOW ! Chico-The-Man was off his chain. He’s likes me ! I never knew that Boxer and Buddy had all these friends. Chico said he took awhile to get use to Buddy. Chico said that he thought the dog mom got rid of Boxer but then Boxer came around and told Chico he blew out his knee and needed surgery last year.
I wonder what is going to happen to my baby-baby sister. . .she was only 4 weeks old when she came to live with Cupcake and myself. . . .
I have learned three new commands in the last three days: “Settle Down”, “Halt” and “Heel”. . .I am a quick learner; I like going to school. Boxer and Buddy and I have bonded – we haven’t played together just did a lot of communications. I have never been told I was a Good Boy while walking. I like this dog mom – she is nice.
Boxer tells me, he gave a big long pee in front of Congo; Boxer said it got his attention after 30 seconds – even I am impressed – and then Boxer scratched. Buddy came out of the gate ready to rumble; my money is on Buddy – he’s built like a Sherman tank and comes up like a submarine torpedo – yeah, they’re my homies.

The dog mom is telling me this lady named Auntie Lori is going to give me a new home. That she has all these really good friends . . . […]
