PITStop Community Assist: TAFFY needs a home!

I’m not a dog rescuer, and I have this foster dogger, Taffy, that I took in as a stray from the streets of South LA. She’s living in my tiny, sad, cold laundry room all alone with no access to a yard because I have no where to keep her(my house is filled with cats, bunnies and hamsters, all terrified of dogs). I need help networking her with potential adopters and adoption events where I can show her. She has passed her temp test with all types of dogs, big, small, alpha, submissive, young and old, she wooes every single person she meets, including rescuers who specialize in her breed mix, vets and strangers. She’s young, healthy, spayed, UTD on shots, dewormed and microchipped already.
I don’t care if you adopt her under your contract or mine, and you’re welcome to any adoption fee if she’s adopted at your event. I’m just desperate to get her a spot somewhere. If you can take her into your rescue or foster, I’d also be happy to trade her for a cat, feral cat, hamster, rat, chinchilla, mouse, guinea pig or bunny that you need help placing(or my promise that I’ll take the next one you need to place).
I will happily be responsible for all of her bills, if you take her in. I’m just way outside of my realm and I’m not set up for dogs. If anyone wants references for me or Taffy, I can give you a slew, and home visits are welcomed. Plus I have a bunch more pictures and videos, including videos of her meeting other dogs and being generally adorable.

Here’s a link to her first youTube video.
More will follow.

Heeeeeeeeeelpp!!!!!!!!! I am begging you to crosspost far and wide and help me to help this darling, kissy, snuggly lovebug!!
Thanks,
Cari Daly

PITStop Community Assist:SWEET LITTLE HAZEL!

Sweet little Hazel is 3-4 year old
pygmy Stafforshire Terrier

Weighing only 40 to 45 pounds (full grown), Hazel would make a wonderful addition to someone’s home. Rescued from Baldwin Park shelter at the last hour, Hazel now needs to be re-homed, as her dad got a new job and will be traveling a majority of the time. Hazel is truly the sweetest littlegirl, her tail never stops wagging (in fact, her whole body wags)! She just loves to go for walks and hikes. Hazel is great with other dogs too. She may need some training to help her realize that not all dogs want to play, but she responds very well to commands, so this shouldn’t be a hard thing to correct. Hazel is potty-trained, spayed, and up to date on her vaccines. This girl is so loving and loyal.she really deserves the best forever home!

PITStop Community Assist: OPAL, the tripod beauty!

ADOPT ME! I’m Opal – the world’s sweetest tripod dog. My original so-called owners neglected me in a backyard with three other dogs. My back left leg developed a blood clot and my foot went numb. For months it just dragged behind me and got gnawed on by the other dogs. Food was scarce and I often was left out of mealtimes because of my injury. Finally, my people took me to the vet but only because they wanted to put me down. I was so scared! By this time my paw was just a stub, and pretty gross because it was infected and rotten. The kind vet offered to amputate my leg for free, but my owners still wanted me put to sleep! Thank goodness I was relinquished to the vet who rescued me, did my surgery and saved my life. Even though I have been through a lot, I LOVE people. I am so grateful for kindness, food, and attention, I want to kiss everyone I meet!

I am getting around great on my three legs and have discovered I love cats – they are really fun nap partners. I would love a home of my own with kind people who will care for me forever. I’m kind of a miracle myself, so I believe my special dream of a family who loves me will come true soon!

Opal is a healthy 1 year old, female, 3 legged pitbull mix. She is spayed and fully vaccinated.

PITStop Community Assist: ROCKY, GSD IN NORTH CENTRAL

Found a friendly male shepherd mix this morning. He was on Valley Blvd in Los Angeles during morning traffic cars were honking at him but luckily we were able to get him out of traffic.
He had no I.D. and no one in the area knew where he came from. So we unfortunately had to take him to North Central Animal Shelter.
He is a large male german shep. mix, un neutered, seems on the younger side maybe 1 year old. Friendly demeanor & enjoyed being petted.
If anyone is looking for a shep. mix. please consider adopting him.
There were so many animals there. Very heartbreaking puppies crying as soon as you stopped petting them. Please Adopt. It makes ZERO sense to buy dogs you’re just giving money to people who could care less about the animals well being.

ROCKY – ID#A1159248

My name is Rocky and I am an unaltered male, tan German Shepherd Dog.

The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 6 months old.
I weigh approximately 64 pounds.

I have been at the shelter since Oct 07, 2010.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, all animals will be sterilized prior to release.

For more information about this animal, call:
North Central Animal Care and Control Center at (888) 452-7381
Ask for information about animal ID number A1159248

PITStop Community Assist:EMERGENCY : MUST GET OUT NOW! : Mr. Foxy’s Fourth needs fixing – 10 lb fox terrier A1144602 South L.A.

MR. FOXY (THE TOY FOX TERRIER) HAS A FOURTH THAT NEEDS FIXING (watch the video of this sweet little guy hopping — and hoping to find someone to help him)

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4HYcQYJRys

THIS IS AN EXTRA SPECIAL PLEA FROM MEDICAL STAFF THAT ADORE MR. FOXY AND WANT HIM TO LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Mr. Foxy (A1144602, 3 years old and just a teensy 10 pounds) is beloved by the staff who see him every day back in their treatment room. And they see a lot of dogs!!! He’s a shy, sweet little guy who was probably hit by a car and has a fractured right tibia. Please consider rescuing this innocent creature, sadly suffering from the neglect of an owner who let him outside. If you would like to donate towards his surgery — to a qualified rescue — let me know and we can start pledges until he is safe.

Call the South L.A. shelter at (213) 485-0117 or -0119 to get the “quick brown fox jumping” once again. With thanks, Andrea & Mindy ivegonetothedogs@gmail.com (323) 363-4909

PITSTOP COMMUNITY ASSIST: Daisy’s a bloomin’ great dog!!!

DAISY’S A-BLOOMIN’ GREAT DOG!!

EXTRA HUGGABLE. WRINKLY-FACED. ALWAYS GRINNING.
SHE CHARMS EVERYONE SHE MEETS

HONESTLY, DAISY IS THE BEST FLOWER IN THE BUNCH

With her kisses, so sweet and plentiful; her nature so gentle; her smile radiating happiness, Daisy is one special blossom!!! In full bloom at 8 years of age, this mini St. Bernard mix (60 pounds), already house-trained, radiates happiness. She’s at her best cuddling up by your side — but she also enjoys playing with other pooches. (No cats, please.)
A bit of history : When the call came that our lovable Daisy was in serious trouble at the South L.A. shelter and needed rescue immediately, panic set in. But, those of us who had met this warm and wonderful girl at our mobile adoption (where she behaved perfectly) refused to let her die. Daisy is seeking new soil now — a permanent home — or even a temporary foster where she can thrive. If you can offer Daisy this opportunity, we guarantee that she will bring everlasting sunshine into your heart.

Please call Sue at (818) 857-6984 to meet this glowing girl.

Many thanks, Andrea (323) 363-4909
