PITStop Community Assist: RUSTY!

Hi Everyone,

Here is yet another casualty of the present economic condition… I was called today by a couple who recently lost their jobs and their home. The husband is presently looking for work, but they are now homeless and don’t want to dump their dog in the pound.
Rusty is a 6 mo. old shep/Golden Ret. mix who is great w/other dogs and kids. Should be good w/cats as well. He is neutered, vaccinated and I believe housebroken too. I have posted him on Petfinder & Adopt-a-pet, but they can’t hold onto him much longer! Please contact them if you have a foster or interested adopter.

PITStop Community Assist: CARL & DELILAH

DELILAH – 6 years old

CARL – 3 years old
My name is Stacy and I volunteer at the Los Angeles County, Agoura Animal Shelter. Carl has been with us since December, though he did get adopted last June, but went to a young man with a low fence. He claims Carl jumped his fence twice, but I believe there might of been more of an issue with the parents. He did return Carl and then adopted a pit mix puppy.

Carl wants nothing more than to please his human. While at the shelter he did not like 3 male dogs, however, he has played with several. Anywhere from small to large. He finally met his true love, Delilah. Delilah came to us last Feb and was expecting pups any day. We believe she is part lab and most of her pups looked like labs. All pups were placed but sadly she has not found a home yet.
Carl and Delilah fell in love. They go out to play yards together, spend time in our real room and also share a kennel. Carl is such a gentleman. He lets her eat first and even gives up his toys when she wants one. He is such a deserving soul and we would love nothing more than for both to find a home together.
Carl was also on one of the news stations as pet of the week. Sadly, nothing became of his one minute of fame. Though he was fabulous.
Right now Carl is in danger of losing his life. At some point soon, the same fate could hold true for his girlfriend. We have a large volunteer base and these two are the volunteers favorites. We are begging for help. We can handle the transport but we need a safe place for him to go or preferably the two. I believe if Carl had his girlfriend he could be happy in pretty much any situation. They love to lounge in the real room and are very well behaved as they are left along for hours.
If there is anything you can do for either of our babies, please let me know. If you now of another reputable 501c3 that may be interested, please pass on this information. Carl is running out of time. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

PITStop Community Assist: GOOSE!

My dog is still missing and I miss him terribly. I’m not giving up so I’m reaching out to all dog rescue organizations again should my little guy end up at your rescue organization.
I’ve attached pictures of him and a flyer. Please keep an eye out for him should he end up at your shelter/rescue organization. I miss him terribly and search for him all of the time. He’s on Craig’s list, Find Fido, K-9 alert, Pet Harbor and a few other sites. I check the local and county shelters on-line every day and I visit them on the weekends, but I haven’t had any luck. I’ve had numerous sightings all over downtown Los Angeles (Santa Fe and 7th, 3rd and Boyle, Maple, Washington, Grand, Olympic, Central) basically all over downtown Los Angeles.
I’ve included a flyer and pictures of my little guy. He’s out there all alone and he doesn’t know the area. I live in Pasadena and he went missing from a Doggy Day care center in Downtown Los Angeles.
Thanks very much and please keep my little guy in your prayers.

These are German Shorthair Pointers. They are in need of a home. They are about 5 weeks old right now. Mama needs a home too. Please pass this along if you know someone who may be interested or can help foster these babies.

PITStop Community Assist: PUPPY found on Skid Row

A plea from Herlinda Chico

So here’s the little boy we found in skid row. He’s probably about 6 weeks old. He looks like he’s some sort of shepherd mix but he’s really little. He has now discovered how nice it is to be held and that’s what he wants to do now… snuzzle. We’re looking for someone who can foster him until we can find a forever home or a rescue that will take him. He is in desperate need of a bath 🙂 And he should definitely be seen by a vet. We can contribute a small amount towards that care. I wish it were more.

Thank you again for passing this along so we can

find a foster or forever home.
Thanks.

Any questions and you can call me on my cell phone 562.652.5600

PITStop Community Assist: PITBULL needs a new home

A plea from Bryan C. Clarke

A friend passed away recently and left behind his Pitbull Terrier. The dog is at least 7 years old. It was well cared for by his previous owner and it has been around families so it is accustomed to people. My friend loved this dog so I really would like to find a home for it. The dog is currently in a kennel in the Los Angeles area.

I have been trying to find a home, but so far I have been unsuccessful. Unfortunately, some of the family who are responsible for the dog are becoming impatient and are hinting that they would rather put the dog the sleep then continue looking for a home. I have convinced them to wait a little longer, but time is running out. I cannot take the dog because of the rules where I live and the family members of my deceased friend do not want to take on the dog either.

ghostface has had all his shots. The dog was walked within a neighborhood where other dogs were and as far as I know there were no incidents with other dogs. This dog was pampered to an extent as he lived within the house with the owner. However, he was occasionally taken to parks and areas to run and exercise.

I know the family will be making a final decision on the dog’s fate soon as they cannot continue to pay the kennel fees for much longer.

If you are interested, please contact Brian at (310) 237-5345
or by email at: clarkebr@msu.edu

THANK YOU!
