PITStop Community Assist: RUSTY – Rhodesian Ridgeback
A Plea from our favorite volunteer and INDIE PRINTING co-founder, Frankie Carranza:
I’ve been trying to help someone find a home for a dog he found and has been gracious enough to foster. Unfortunately its becoming an issue for him because he travels a lot for business, and really needs help taking care of the dog ASAP. Here goes my pitch…
Looking for an friendly dog that will run, hike, play, and compliment your active lifestyle? Then this dog is for you! Rusty is what we’re calling him, but you can call him anything. Rusty was found on the streets, and is now living with a foster parent who can no longer keep him due to work schedules.
Rusty is a super friendly and clumsy Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who loves to walk and run. He seems to be fairly young(maybe 2 or 3), is neutered, and is curious, but not aggressive towards cats and other dogs. He’s good with kids and has lots of playful energy. He’d compliment any active lifestyle, and needs a loving home as soon as possible. Rusty currently lives on a patio, so we are not sure if he is house trained, but he seems to use the restroom in the same place all the time, so I’d say he’s pretty trained.
Any help is appreciated!

PITStop Community Assist: TINY, ELLIE & WOODY
ELLIE is a demure 2 yr. old pitbull
Woody is a special 1-year-old miniature pit bull
Tiny is a sweet 6-year-old pit bull
Plea from Nancy Hardy:
I am a board member for Eastern Sierra Dog Rescue in Bishop, Ca. We have a little pit family at our shelter here that came from a horder out in Death Valley area. They are such sweet little pits-very tiny. So far we have had no luck-not even a nibble- getting them a home. We would love to keep them together-but certainly a home for any of them would be great. We do not have a facility or I would foster them in a second. Is there anyway you might be able to help us out. We are such a small community-and it is just getting saturated with unwanted dogs at the moment. We will lose dogs to euthanasia-a fact-but my heart really goes out to this little family.
You can also go to EASTERN SIERRA DOG RESCUE
Thanks for all the good work you do for dogs.

URGENT PITStop Community Assist: COCO & FIONA
DEADLINE IS 5/29 FOR COCO AND FIONA
A plea from Renee S.
I have attached a photo of my pit bull coco (mom) and her daughter Fiona. Fiona is a pit/mastiff mix. Coco(rust and white) is 4 years old and Fiona is 3 years old. We live in a home and have to move, I am moving from a 3 bedroom home to a 1 bedroom apartment this week. This is killing me even to have to send this email out for your help, I wish my situation hadn’t come to this but it has. I don’t want to take them to the shelter because I know Coco probably wouldn’t make it because she is a full pit , Fiona may make it .
Coco loves to play with either her rope or her ball… very smart and listen very well. Fiona (fawn color) is a very loving and loves all the attention she can get. Very mild manner and a little shy, she just loves attention. These two are like my children, and it really hurts me so, so much I have to get rid of them. We have had Coco since she was only 6 weeks old, and then when she had her first litter Fiona was the one my step daughter picked out for us to keep.
You can contact me at 562-843-7397 cell.
Thank You.
PITStop Community Assist: ORION! DDR cares about cats too!
About a week ago, Long Beach Felines was contacted about a kitten with a deformed leg, but we did not have any room. About a week later, we again came into contact with the kitten who had finally gotten to a vet. The kitten (named Twister at the time) had an ankle out of joint and a fracture of his lower femur. His foster mom was about at her wit’s end so LB Felines decided it was in the kitten’s best interest for us to immediately made room from him. The kitten (now named Orion) has since undergone surgery to repair his femur at All Care in Fountain Valley at a cost of $2,500. His leg is currently in an external fixator which will be removed in a couple of weeks if all goes well. Long Beach Felines is a very small rescue with limited funding. Any help would be appreciated. We are a non-profit and a tax deduction receipt can be provided if requested.

PITStop Community Assist: BELLA!
We want to help Nisha find resolution regarding BELLA, a 4 year old pit bull that she recently ended up caring for, here in Southern California. Nisha is BELLA’s3rd guardian. BELLA’s 2nd owner is signing up for the Navy and can no longer care for BELLA. The 1st owner had to move into another place that could not accommodate a dog. Nisha does not want to drop her off to Los Angeles Animal Services because the holding time is 4 days max. She lives in the back house of BELLA’s 2nd owner.
She cannot take BELLA but she has been feeding her and allowing BELLA to sleep inside her house at night. She will try and hold out longer and find her a home. BELLA’s 2nd owner has completely washed his hands of her…sad. Nisha has noticed that BELLA has been rapidly losing weight. She is willing to drive BELLA to a vet appt but does not have the finances to currently subsidize a vet check-up.
Here is her plea:
My name is Nisha & I have been taking care of a 4 year old female Pittbull Mix that belongs to the neighbor in the front house where I live. She was given to him about 2 months ago and I have been feeding her and I can’t afford to feed her for the fact that I have 2 dogs of my own. She needs to be seen by a Vet ASAP, she’s been losing weight other than that she seems very active. She’s house trained and I let her in my house and never had any accidents. She’s a very sweet dog, she’s very good with my 16lb.& 4lb. dogs, but when she sees other dogs she is very vocal, I don’t know if it’s because she gets excited or if she will be aggressive, I can’t tell with her. Maybe she needs to go to a home without other dogs. I need help with her in finding a good loving home for her. If there is anyone out there that would like to adopt her please let me know. By the way her name is Bella. Thank you.

PITStop Community Assist: DAMIEN!
DAMIEN: The NEW one eyed wonder!
We’re trying to find Damien a foster home!!!!! Read his appeal — remember STRUMMER (now Ahab)? Damien is now our new Strummer – the one eyed wonder!!!! Here is something about Damien!
Jay and his lady due to a family dispute last year lost their Section 8 and are now moving.
Jr (a red nose mastiff built pit) and Congo (a grey and white mastiff built Pit)have jumped over Jay’s fence twice and attacked Damien. The first time it was just facial. The second time, Damien lost his retina.
Damien is now a handicapped dog blind dog getting ready to lose his family because the owner of the apartment has a “NO DOG POLICY” and they are on the 3rd floor.
I was told that they only plan on staying there for a year and then finding another place. They are hoping Damien could be placed in a foster home until they can move . . . .
Damien is really a super kool dog non-aggressive, well trained by Jay.
CONSIDER DAMIEN as a foster love for you till he can be reunited with his guardians!
