Sasha
Pit Bull Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix
Medium • Young • Female
Sasha is a young Pit bull mixed . She absolutely loves other dogs, and would do best in a home with lots of action, and at least one other dog. She is friendly and outgoing with people, and quickly makes friends on and off leash with every dog that she meets. She is a dog park type dog, one that I would not hesitate in telling an adopter, take her to any dog park, and let her enjoy! She came to us after being rescued by a private rescuer, who asked us for help placing her. She is crate, and leash trained, knows basic commands, and is ready for her forever home. She would make a wonderful family dog, since she is also great with kids. Not sure about kitties, but has shown no interest in harming them, she appears to just want to chase and play with them.

Pearl
Pit Bull Terrier

Pearl is a super friendly young pit bull terrier who gets along with all dogs, every size and age. She is also ok with cats. At only 35lbs, she is a tiny little girl who is leashed trained, crate trained, loves going on car rides and going to the park. This is the type of pit bull that you can take to a dog park, sit at an outdoor cafe, go to Runyon Canyon or Griffith Park with no worries about dog aggression. She is simply wonderful. She is OK with children and everyone she meets. She is more on the timid / submissive side and is definitely a subordinant dog. If you have a dog already in your household, she would be a good choice. Her sister Opal was already adopted so it’s Pearl’s turn now. She lives at our kennel with about 20 other dogs and plays in our pack twice a day.

Precious
American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Precious was rescued from South Central Los Angeles. When we rescued her she had been chained up to a tree for probably years, not months or weeks. She weighed 23 pounds, was covered in fleas, had obviously been attacked by other dogs and had two huge sores on her hips that were down to the bone. She looked like she was dying on the chain. After a month of medical rehabilitation and another two months of getting her socially ready to be adopted by allowing her to be a dog with other dogs in our pack, she is finally ready to be adopted. She is approximately four years, has been spayed and vaccinated, weighs about 50 pounds, is social with all people and other dogs and walks well on a leash. This poor dog has been to hell and back!

Pepper
Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Pepper is a beautiful 3-legged dog that needs a super home! She is approximately 2-3 years old, is a Lab – Pit bull mix that weighs 55-60lbs. She is missing her front right leg as a result of a horrible dog attack at the facility where she was living before we rescued her. According to the kennel person, a dog grabbed her and almost killed her. She has endured so much suffering, was neglected, poorly cared for and basically left to heal on her own. Amazingly, she loves other dogs, is a submissive, sweet, gentle girl who only wants to give you kisses and snuggle against you. She gets around beautifully on three legs and loves to play. Although she would do best walking with a special support harness which our dog rescue will train the adopter how to use (its really easy), she can get around great on 3 legs. Our vet gave her a good prognosis and the missing leg will not shorten her life span if she continues to stay fit and in good health. In person, she looks more like a Lab than a Pit bull Terrier, has very soft eyes and is waiting for her super special forever home. If you are ready to open your heart and home up to a dog who could live with both cats and dogs and small children, this dog is an A+ girl!

Handsome
Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog Mix

Handsome is a 10 month old Pit bull Terrier + English Bull Dog mix also known as a Bully. He had a young owner who decided that with school and other activities, owning a dog was not something that he could handle. Still a puppy, he turned to DDR to help him find Handsome a home. We have been in Handsomes life from the start. Our organization paid to vaccinate and neuter him, we spayed his mama dog and Handsome has been coming out to Pit bull School practically as soon as he was weaned. He is leash trained, house trained and loves other dogs. This is a very sweet dog with a gentle temperament. Right now, Handsome is a little under weight. We estimate he will weigh about 60lbs at full maturity. He has been microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Medira
Jack Russell Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier Mix

We rescued Medira on her very last hour at the South LA shelter. She was red listed, set to be euthanized when we got the call, come and get her within the hour or she is going to die. We also rescued her sister, Aragon who has been adopted. This girl, like her sister, is VERY playful with other dogs. She would make a great off leash type of dog. She loves to chase and play hard. If you have another dog who is bored, looking for some fun, consider Medira. She had the mind of a Jack Russell and the athletism of a pit bull terrier, WOW, what a combo! This dog is crate trained, rides nicely in the car and is ready to go to her forever home now.

Sunshine
Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Meet Sunshine a 2 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog mixed with a pit bull. If you have ever dreamedof owning a herding pit bull mix type dog, she is your girl. This is a WONDERFULLY social dog with people and other dogs. She is an off leash type dog who would learn very quickly to go on off leash hikes. She plays with at least 12 other dogs at a time in our pack and understands rank and order in a dog pack very quickly. She is more intelligent than most of our knucklehead pit bulls and learned the rules quickly. She is approximately 50 lbs, spayed current on all vaccinations and microchipped. She was rescued by DDR from the South LA shelter. She was the shelter pick, all the volunteers loved her and did not want to see her euthanized. She went out to many mobile adoption events, including the Best Friends Super Adoption but was not adopted. In fact, she made such a positive impression on everyone that Karma Rescue who had already taken 8 dogs, offered to board her for two weeks at their vet’s office if DDR would take her. We gladly accepted and a ray of Sunshine entered our kennel the day she came to live with us. She plays well with Bruno, Medira and Sasha to name a few of the many DDR dogs that line up to play with this sweet girl.
