This is a courtesy listing for Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue. Please contact them directly. PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO (AND INSTRUCTIONS) BEFORE CONTACTING RESCUE – Please provide some information about your home, family and other pets. ONLY E-MAIL INQUIRIES CONTAINING SOME INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR HOME WILL RECEIVE A RESPONSE FROM THE RESCUE. SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE! Posted 8/19/17 - Reagan is an approximately 10 week old Yellow Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever mix puppy who is possibly mixed with unknown Shepherd or even a Husky type. At 7 weeks of age, witnesses saw a car pull up at a park, DUMP Reagan, and drive off. Authorities were called, and Reagan ended up safe with Rescue. Reagan now weighs about 11.4 lbs.; he is growing each day, and it is estimated that he may grow to be about 60 lbs. Reagan had a vet check and is deemed to be healthy. He had his first and second set of puppy shots, is microchipped and dewormed, and we will contract with the adopter to get his third, fourth and fifth set of shots. He is too young to be neutered, but we will strictly contract with an adopter to do that at the appropriate time. Reagan is a typical inquisitive, fun and happy puppy. He loves toys and is playful, and torments the older dogs here to play with him but they are not having his puppy style. Reagan really likes other dogs; it would be nice if he had another young pup that was interested in playing with him and palling around! He is doing well in his crate-training. He can whine loudly sometimes, but overall, he does well (I crate him if I have to leave the house for a bit, for eating, and for sleeping, and for sleeping, as long as I position the crate in my bedroom, and give him one additional potty break at about 11 p.m., he sleeps through the night without interruption of my sleep. Then when I wake up, I immediately give him his morning potty break. Even though Reagan is doing well in his potty training, a puppy this young will continue to have potty accidents for some time and an adopter must be prepared to continue with his ongoing crate and potty-training thus an appropriate sized wire crate will be mandatory for his adoption. Reagan is a smart puppy that learns things quickly. He learned the doggie door immediately by seeing the other dogs do it, followed the Dachshunds up the doggie steps to the bed, and learned his name right away. He picks up the routine fast, and now, at nighttime he runs to his crate in the bedroom knowing he will get a rawhide stick. He is a nice balance of playing and getting into stuff (and also stuff he should not get into ?) and chilling near me on a pet bed. He is very sweet, but occasionally willful, so I am looking for an adopter who plans on taking him to puppy training at the appropriate time. You must meet the following criteria to be considered for adoption: • Someone at home most of the day, for example, stay-at-home moms/dads, folks who work from home, or complimentary schedules among the adults in the home. • Previous dog experience. • Another dog for play and companionship. • A wire crate for puppy to be when no one is at home; we recommend 36 inches long as he is growing. • Applicants must be between 30 and 60 years of age. • No infants or toddlers, please, but we will consider families with older children who are gentle and well supervised by parents. • We only adopt dogs as INDOOR dogs. Dogs can go outdoors for play (with supervision at this young age), for potty, but never to be excluded to an outside area, not even when older. • Home with a yard – no apartments, condos, town homes. If you are interested in Reagan, you do not need to press any special buttons on this website, just write/send a regular e-mail to Janet Cook to: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. Please write with some information about your home, family members, other pets, dog experience. I sincerely apologize, but I cannot answer single questions such as, “Is this dog available?” “Can I come and meet this dog?” or, “How much?” Only those who read the bio, as well as send an e-mail with the requested information will be considered to apply. If you go to this website: www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and go to the Adoption Tab (look at tabs along the top) you can read about the application process. The adoption fee is: $325 plus $75 as a spay/neuter deposit (total $400). In addition to the Adoption Contract, there will be a vaccine and neuter contract and follow up will be strictly enforced. Once Reagan becomes altered, the $75 will be reimbursed. We may be able to refer you to vets that offer a lowered neuter cost. A home check may be required. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. We cannot take phone inquiries, however, if you send an e-mail, and you do not receive a response within 24 hours, please feel free to phone the rescue. Thank you!

He has a large white chest and perky ears; he's darling. Bruno is a mature adult dog at 8 years old. When Bruno was a young puppy he lived at Downtown Dog Rescue when it was just a parking lot and two volunteers. He was a very happy dog who was quickly adopted. Sadly, his owner passed away and he is back at our kennel. A little older and wiser, he is again looking for a home. Bruno lives at our kennel in South Gate. He came back to us a little out of shape, too many treats, plus, he went through ACL surgery. Because of the extra pressure this created on his opposite leg, Bruno has to take it easy. No long hikes or dog parks for this guy. He needs a simple life with someone to love who will give him some snuggles, short walks and a super soft bed. He is a very sweet boy who will be easy to manage. He does not mind other dogs but prefers to have his human all to himself! He would do well in most homes with no small children or other pets. Bruno lived with a dog sibling most his life, but now that he is older he wants to relax and be the only dog. We cannot blame him! She is a one-year-old Pit Bull/American Bulldog mix. Charlotte is white with cream-colored markings, dark soulful eyes, and weighs about 65 lbs. Charlotte was brought to the Downey Shelter by a nice person who found her wandering the streets. We are not sure what Charlotte went through before the shelter, but she was severely underweight and confused about the world around her. We brought her to our kennel in South Gate where she learned how to socialize with dogs and to enjoy human touch. Charlotte has made incredible progress since we met her at the shelter. It has been amazing to watch her transform into a happy, loving dog. Currently, she is living in a foster home with another dog. She is very dog social and loves to play with her foster brother and especially her neighbor canine friend, Sparkles. Charlotte is crate-trained and has learned how to sit, fetch and use the doggie door. Some of her favorite things are food, her Kong and basketball, kiddie-pool time, playing fetch, cuddles and belly rubs. She will do well in a home with or without dog siblings. She is a sweet girl who is more than deserving of a second chance! Come meet her! Meet Peter! Peter is a pit bull mix (possibly mixed with Boxer) who was found wandering the streets of Lancaster, California. When a Good Samaritan approached Peter with half a treat and bowl of water, he went right to them, ate the treat, drank the water and willingly walked with them to their car. He knew he was safe that day and was so happy that he was not wondering the streets anymore. The Good Samaritan took Peter to the vet and found out that he had a microchip. When Peter’s previous owner was contacted, they indicated that they did not want Peter back. Essentially, they had abandoned Peter. Peter knows basic commends (seat, stay, etc.) and he is quick learner. He is house-trained and will let you know if needs to go to the bathroom. Peter loves getting attention, giving kisses and getting a massage. He is a gentle dog with people and loves to be where his people are. Peter loves to go on walks, but he is very strong and is learning not to pull. Peter would do best in an active household as an only dog. He is about age 5 and weighs about 65 lbs. Peter is located in Ontario, California. He is already neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Courtesy listing! Please contact Stacy by email at luvmypitbulls@gmail.com and not the rescue connected to this page! The best (and preferred) method of communication is by way of e-mail; thank you! Meet Jax, a 1 1/2-year-old gray tabby, who lived patiently at Petsmart for a year waiting to be adopted until a Good Sam felt that a foster home would suit him better for a chance at a real home! He is a well-adjusted boy - the unsettled beginnings of his life did not seem to rattle him at all. Jax is great at entertaining himself but would love to have a cat playmate. He currently lives in a house with two cat-friendly Pit Bulls and does great with them, but does not engage in play with them. He really enjoyed playing with the cats at Petsmart, so we are looking for a home with a feline companion. Jax has a laid back personality most of the time, but becomes a track star at about 9am and 9pm which is short lived. He will seek out affection from time to time and becomes super loving if you walk in the kitchen as he feels you are making him something great to eat. He is great at directing his scratching to his scratcher, and loves to gaze out the windows and dream of the adventures he would have. So if you are looking for a simple, happy boy who can be a bit naughty (but not in the destructive way) - he could be the one! (Jax would do best in a home with former cat owners. If there are children in the house we would ask for older children that understand and are respectful or cats.) She would do best in a house with a yard as the only dog where she can exercise running around, lay in the sun and relaxing, and hang out with her owner and live an easy life! She must be a companion dog to the humans, both indoors and out. At three years old she weighs 75 pounds and is fully grown. Princess Daisy is a beautiful dog with perfect eyeliner just like a Geisha! She is very calm and affectionate in the house and loves to lay by your feet and relax and is happy to greet every person that comes around, but will get anxious walking on leash on busy streets with people running/jogging, bicycles and skateboards coming towards her. Princess Daisy needs a confident and patient owner who will continue to work with her being out and about in the big world if that is desired, HOWEVER she would be very happy to be a “house dog” and live an easy life with you in and out of the house and go for car rides which is one of her favorite things to do, and most of all, being close to her person and getting tummy rubs! Are you a person that would enjoy giving this girl a chance to have a great life? She would love to be your one and only and she will be the most loyal and loving friend you will ever have!
