This is a courtesy listing for another rescue group. Please read dog’s entire written bio before contacting rescue. To inquire about this dog, you do not need to press any special buttons on this website. Send a regular e-mail to Janet Cook at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. Please provide some information about your home, family and other pets. Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue is a private, foster home based rescue. Though there are some steps that precede meeting a dog, they are quick and expeditious. Thank you! SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE! Gilda is a very happy Schnauzer/Terrier mix rescued from the Devore Animal Shelter. Now that she is out of the shelter and exposed to all life has to offer, she is eager to be a great companion! She is super human-oriented and also loves other dogs. She instantly approaches all people (and dogs) to make friends. From the shelter, Gilda weighed about 16-17 lbs. but should probably be about 19-20 lbs. when fed with some consistency. Gilda has a wire hair coat, which is low to no shedding. Though the low to no shedding aspect is a perk, we hope to find adopters that will read this entire bio and want a dog of her type, in addition to that perk. Gilda is a very cute dog, with big, button eyes, and a tongue that hangs out when she is happy, and even sticks out a bit when she is sleeping. Gilda is a compact little ball of sunshine that is a blank slate just waiting for the right person to come along. She is 18 months of age and is very puppy-ish in her personality. Gilda is very much a terrier breed type in that she loves to be involved in daily activities and also learn new things to engage her need for mental stimulation. Like most Schnauzer mixes, Gilda would be a great companion for someone who wants to enjoy life and daily activities, both indoor and outdoor with their dog! She would also be a fine companion for any young non-dominant dog who is adventurous, enjoys interactive play, and buddying up together! Gilda was fantastic in the crate from day one. After one potty accident on the first day, she has not had another one. Gilda learned the doggie door right away by modeling the other dogs. She loves her food, and eats fast so we feed her from a slow bowl (her slow bowl will go in an adoption) and she really loves her rawhide stick at bedtime. Though Gilda is new to being a companion animal, she is easy to work with. She has learned to sit for a treat, is figuring out toys, and now chases the ball! She has not shown any destructive tendencies inside or outside, and she is relatively quiet. We seek an adopter who at the very least is willing to take Gilda to a basic training class, such as what is offered at Petco or PetSmart. This will help Gilda to learn important things such as “Come,” “Stay,” “Leave it,” etc., and will help develop her into a more well-mannered dog. Gilda will blossom into a fantastic companion for any lucky adopter! She is willing to learn a whole lot more with an adopter who wants to teach her new stuff! The home we seek for Gilda either has another PLAYFUL, adventurous dog in the home that can teach Gilda the joys of doggie interactive play, and with people who enjoy including their dogs in daily life, OR, as an only dog in the home whereby her people will include her in daily life and frequent structured activities, and where she will not be left alone for long, extended hours on a daily basis. Gilda does not have any separation anxiety, but we believe that she would get too bored sitting around all day. No running or jogging please, but hiking, walking, camping, dog park, etc. would be activities that Gilda would relish in. Since cats is an unknown, no cats please. Some type of yard is a bonus for Gilda but not a requirement. And, like all dogs adopted from this rescue, Gilda MUST BE primarily an indoor dog with outdoor access for play and potty. Gilda cannot be excluded to the outdoors away from the people, and all dogs must sleep inside the house. Like many young dogs looking for love, Gilda can be attention-seeking and can also get under your feet, but she can also settle. Gilda wants to please her person, so she can modify her behavior with training. Gilda is a great, loving, sweet and warm dog just waiting for her right person or people! Gilda is spayed, fully vaccinated (including rabies), Front-lined, dewormed, and micro-chipped. She has also had a formal vet check. If you are interested in Gilda, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue until you have first submitted an interest via e-mail. She has an infectious smile and a shiny blue coat with a white chest. She has recently lost some weight and is feeling really good so do not tell her she is not a cover model! Delilah weighs about 60 pounds and is 6 years old. One of the great perks about adult pit bulls once they are a bit older, their personalities are set and they are no longer a mystery as to how their genetics will play out, as with a puppy or one-year-old. They are not going to grow up to be a concern. What you see is what you get, and in Delilah, that is a really great dog! Delilah is a blue and white Pit Bull mix that is low to the ground. She loves her simple life at the Downtown Dog Rescue kennel but loves people even more and cannot wait for her person to come and find her. She is easy to please. She loves to cuddle! She spends most of her days lounging around in the sun and enjoys her walks. She goes hiking with a big group of dogs on the weekend and loves being out and about and behaves well on leash. Delilah has lived with dog siblings in the past, but we have noticed she would rather have her human all to herself. She is not dog aggressive at all, but is indifferent to other dogs just like many other true divas, and prefers to be the only dog and no cats. Delilah would be in heaven with a plush bed, taking it easy with her human and going for some walks; can you satisfy the diva’s simple needs? She is a great and easy going girl with lots of love to give. Come meet her at our kennel in South Gate! If you are interested in Delicious Delilah, please fill out our brief online questionnaire (copy and paste link): http://downtowndogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ Additional Downtown Dog Rescue contact info: Email: adopt@downtowndogrescue.org or call: 818-407-4145

Courtesy listing! Please contact Shyreen at shy@dogonfun.net or call 626.339.1354 and not the rescue group listed on this page! SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE! Layla is a 5-year- old either pure-bred Boxer, or Boxer mix (she is possibly mixed with American Bulldog) who melted the heart of her foster mom when she saw her at the shelter. She weighs approximately 75 lbs. Layla was turned into the shelter by her family, who decided that having a human baby trumped keeping Layla. Confused by the sudden change and loss of her family, Layla became very depressed in the shelter. After being in the shelter for a year and losing a tremendous amount of weight, she would just lay in the dirt completely shut down. Fortunately for Layla, her foster mom saw what a wonderful dog Layla could be and pulled her from the shelter and brought her to her boarding kennel to help her find her forever home. Since Layla was sprung from the shelter, she has gained weight and is a beautiful girl that has become more balanced. Sometimes she can be a bit shy at first, but once she trusts you, be prepared to be overloaded with love and kisses. Layla has completed full obedience training, is crate-trained, and knows how to use the dog door. Her favorite things are sun-bathing, playing fetch, and chasing any critter that will run. Layla would make a great running/hiking partner and has a perfect pace. She is always ready to jump in the car to go out for an adventure. The home we are seeking for Layla is one with an owner who is experienced with large dog breeds. She would do best with a confident leader. On walks, Layla does wonderfully on leash; however, she needs to feel that she can trust her human to be balanced enough to handle any situation or she will become protective. If she thinks you are weak and cannot protect her, she will be happy to lunge at a dog to keep you safe. Layla is a great girl and her exuberant personality definitely shines through. She has the true boxer happy, ready to go personality. If you are looking for a big, bold, beautiful girl to go on adventures and lounge around the house with you, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested in discussing Layla, please contact Shyreen at shy@dogonfun.net or call 626.339.1354 and not the rescue group listed on this page!

He has a large white chest and perky ears; he's darling. Bruno is a mature adult dog at 8 years old. When Bruno was a young puppy he lived at Downtown Dog Rescue when it was just a parking lot and two volunteers. He was a very happy dog who was quickly adopted. Sadly, his owner passed away and he is back at our kennel. A little older and wiser, he is again looking for a home. Bruno lives at our kennel in South Gate. He came back to us a little out of shape, too many treats, plus, he went through ACL surgery. Because of the extra pressure this created on his opposite leg, Bruno has to take it easy. No long hikes or dog parks for this guy. He needs a simple life with someone to love who will give him some snuggles, short walks and a super soft bed. He is a very sweet boy who will be easy to manage. He does not mind other dogs but prefers to have his human all to himself! He would do well in most homes with no small children or other pets. Bruno lived with a dog sibling most his life, but now that he is older he wants to relax and be the only dog. We cannot blame him! Meet Peter! Peter is a pit bull mix (possibly mixed with Boxer) who was found wandering the streets of Lancaster, California. When a Good Samaritan approached Peter with half a treat and bowl of water, he went right to them, ate the treat, drank the water and willingly walked with them to their car. He knew he was safe that day and was so happy that he was not wondering the streets anymore. The Good Samaritan took Peter to the vet and found out that he had a microchip. When Peter’s previous owner was contacted, they indicated that they did not want Peter back. Essentially, they had abandoned Peter. Peter knows basic commends (seat, stay, etc.) and he is quick learner. He is house-trained and will let you know if needs to go to the bathroom. Peter loves getting attention, giving kisses and getting a massage. He is a gentle dog with people and loves to be where his people are. Peter loves to go on walks, but he is very strong and is learning not to pull. Peter would do best in an active household as an only dog. He is about age 5 and weighs about 65 lbs. Peter is located in Ontario, California. He is already neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Because she is a survivor of animal cruelty, she needs a special home. She needs a consistent routine and someone who is patient. Courtesy listing! Please contact Stacy by email at luvmypitbulls@gmail.com and not the rescue connected to this page! The best (and preferred) method of communication is by way of e-mail; thank you! Meet Jax, a 1 1/2-year-old gray tabby, who lived patiently at Petsmart for a year waiting to be adopted until a Good Sam felt that a foster home would suit him better for a chance at a real home! He is a well-adjusted boy - the unsettled beginnings of his life did not seem to rattle him at all. Jax is great at entertaining himself but would love to have a cat playmate. He currently lives in a house with two cat-friendly Pit Bulls and does great with them, but does not engage in play with them. He really enjoyed playing with the cats at Petsmart, so we are looking for a home with a feline companion. Jax has a laid back personality most of the time, but becomes a track star at about 9am and 9pm which is short lived. He will seek out affection from time to time and becomes super loving if you walk in the kitchen as he feels you are making him something great to eat. He is great at directing his scratching to his scratcher, and loves to gaze out the windows and dream of the adventures he would have. So if you are looking for a simple, happy boy who can be a bit naughty (but not in the destructive way) - he could be the one! (Jax would do best in a home with former cat owners. If there are children in the house we would ask for older children that understand and are respectful or cats.) Meet the stunning looking Morty, who we call Morty-Snorty as he snorts a lot. He walks perfectly on leash and is the type dog you can walk in any metropolitan areas and he is quiet and calm. Morty is 5 years old and weighs 52 pounds, is low to the ground, and is in great shape. He is the type that is not cuddly unless he knows his person very well. He can get very unsure if people push him to pet and hug so is best suited in a one person household that is a low stress environment as a companion dog. He is good with dogs but does not care that much about them, and would be just fine and content as the only dog. He loves to go for walks and tag along for car rides and is a dog that needs a laid back, easy-going lifestyle and hanging out with his person. Morty is already neutered, up-to-date with shots, micro-chipped and house-trained. SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE! (if on Petfinder, look for the flashing video icon!) https://youtu.be/TtFoLbn3QmI Rudy is a two year old pit bull mix. He is a sweet, special dog that is best suited for a simple, quiet life. His favorite activities are bathing in the sunshine and staring at reflections. He is super friendly with people, good with children. Rudy would rather sit by your side on a patch of grass than be the social butterfly of the neighborhood. In fact, give him a comfy bed and yummy meals and he is satisfied. Rudy currently lives in a foster home with other dogs but he prefers being near people and would ideally be an only dog. He is house-trained, neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped and weighs 70 lbs. If you lead a simple life and are looking for the same in a dog, please call us at 818-407-4145 or e-mail adopt@downtowndogrescue.org or fill out our questionnaire at www.downtowndogrescue.org to meet Rudy.

SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE! Princess Daisy is a young adult Pit Bull who we rescued from South L.A. Shelter when she was 4 months of age. She would do best in a house with a yard as the only dog where she can exercise running around, lay in the sun and relaxing, and hang out with her owner and live an easy life! She must be a companion dog to the humans, both indoors and out. At three years old she weighs 75 pounds and is fully grown. Princess Daisy is a beautiful dog with perfect eyeliner just like a Geisha! She is very calm and affectionate in the house and loves to lay by your feet and relax and is happy to greet every person that comes around, but will get anxious walking on leash on busy streets with people running/jogging, bicycles and skateboards coming towards her. Princess Daisy needs a confident and patient owner who will continue to work with her being out and about in the big world if that is desired, HOWEVER she would be very happy to be a “house dog” and live an easy life with you in and out of the house and go for car rides which is one of her favorite things to do, and most of all, being close to her person and getting tummy rubs! Are you a person that would enjoy giving this girl a chance to have a great life? She would love to be your one and only and she will be the most loyal and loving friend you will ever have! Princess Daisy is crate-trained, house-broken, spayed, microchipped and has had all shots including rabies and is a very healthy dog.
