INDEPENDENT RESCUER SPOTLIGHT: GRACIE, 28lb full grown pit mix kicked out of church / Organized by Laura Valdivia

She is so sweet and desperately
needs someone to help her.
Gracie the Pocket Pit Mix
Gracie tried to hide in a flower planter on church grounds…
This little girl is only about two years old and shows signs of being used for breeding. She has two rough callouses on her rear end that may have come from being kept in a dangerously small area – possibly in an effort to impregnate her more easily. A priest in the South Central area Los Angeles found her on the church grounds hiding in a planter that she’d dug out. He was upset that she’d destroyed the planter and was going to call animal control when a good samaritan intervened and stashed her in her apartment in the hopes of finding a home or a rescue for her. The lady is very nice – a security guard who lives in the South Central area. Unfortunately she works a lot and since her building doesn’t allow pets and is undergoing construction that forces people to roam in and out of her apartment, Gracie sometimes has to hide out in her car. It’s uncomfortable and dangerous so the lady is desperate to find a safe place for this little girl.
She has raised about $30 to put towards the spay bill and really needs help paying the rest. Gracie also needs vaccinations and if a foster can’t be found she’ll need funds for boarding because the lady can only hold onto her for another week or so and said that if she can’t find anyone she’ll have to take her to the 11th street pound because she can’t afford to lose her apartment. She really doesn’t want to do that but doesn’t know what else to do if a home can’t be found.
Please help me get Gracie’s chipin around. Other than a small vetting bill the only thing we’d money for is boarding in the event that we can’t find a rescue or home for this little girl. Anything helps – a few dollars, networking or even just good thoughts towards helping this little girl get off the streets go a long way. Thank you for reading this.

Gracie is about 28 lbs – a Pocket Pit Mix! She’s recently spayed and very mellow and sweet. She likes watching TV and going for walks. She’s very friendly with all people and does well around other dogs. She would also be very happy to be the only dog in a family. She just really wants a home and to be loved. She is a real sweetheart. I am cat testing her this week but she hasn’t reacted to any of the cats that have crossed her path so far.
She is very mellow. The lady that’s taking care of her reports that she loves watching TV.
As you can see she has been used for breeding. She is so sweet and just stares up at people waiting patiently to be pet on the head!
